This venue was tall, broad and shallow, with a three-stories high ceiling, enough stage for an orchestra, but only about 12 feet between the front edge and the back wall. The keen listener can hear the vertical reverberations paired with the immediate horizontal reflections. It sounds like being in a pit of a punk warehouse with Nihlotep at the ragged end of their tour, their voices and their sanity, which is accurate. Without enough mics to capture double bass drumming and a vocal PA pushing hard in the mid-range, the sound takes on elements of its Oaklandish punk environment.
