The Alibi was an intimate show. We played on ground level, Solipsis with his drums facing inward and his back to the crowd, Korism evoking gentle and harsh aesthetics with his contrasting guitar tones, Sol delivering his mournful soliloquy to onlookers eye to eye, as the audience, the dimly lit wood panels and the darkness encircled the band. Emulation is the most vulnerable and low energy track of the record, and ended up being perfectly paired for this packed little bar, in the emerald fog belt of Northern California. We met fans who had hitchhiked and camped just to see us, and locals vied for the opportunity to put us up for the night. Artists sometimes feel like they carry on their love of the art in obscurity, but this night helped us understand that out of that obscurity come other real people who truly get it.
